Energy Audit

Not only the fulfillment of a legal obligation,
but a valuable opportunity for your saving!

What is the energy audit:

The energy audit is the analysis of a company energy consumptions and consists in the identification of waste or management anomalies allowing the planning of appropriate improvement interventions.

Audit in accordance with law

The energy audit service ensures to comply with the 2012/27UE Directive, implemented with the legislative decree n.102/2014, which obliges all energy intensive industries and large companies to carry out the energy audit and renew this procedure every 4 years.

  1. Energy Intensive Industries

Energy intensive industries (equal or greater than 2.4 GWh) included in the annual list drawn up by the Electricity Equalisation Fund until 2017.

New energy intensive industries, included in the tax relief of Italian Ministry of Economic Development from 2018 with consumption equal or greater than 1.0 GWh with an incidence of energy cost on revenue and/or VAL (Gross Added Value).

  2. Large companies

Companies with more than 250 employees, with an annual turnover over €50 million and total annual financial statements over € 43 million.

By your side at every stage of the audit

An effective energy audit allows the reduction of energy costs and the evaluation of solutions that comply with corporate KPIs, starting a self-evaluation process that facilitates a continuous enhancement, by adopting correct use of energy policies and targeted investments (with rapid and certain break-evens).

With our services you can:

  • Know your business consumptions and compare it with the competitors
  • Activate energy improvement processes
  • Reduce environmental costs
  • Reduce maintenance costs
  • Improve products and services quality

The 5 phases of the energy audit

Preliminary analysis and data collection

The first phase involves the collection and analysis of bills and supply contracts, the vision of the technical data sheets of the plants and the survey about the type of use of the building.

Technical inspection

Measurements detection (consumptions monitoring) by a technological equipment used for the validation of computer models made from the collected data.

Processing of the surveys

Definition of a consumptions baseline and evaluation of the correct KPIs for each energy vector analyzed.

Benchmarks analysis

Reference benchmarks are used to compare internal company benchmarks and other group or external plants with other similar industrial realities.

Proposals/Improvement intervention

Creation of detailed audit reports, that vary depending on the size of the plant, the complexity of the processes involved and the technological innovation. Reports show the estimated realization costs and the payback time on the investments to take all the opportunities.

Mandatory audit 2019

In the next series of audits (that requires the obligation dated 5 December 2019 for those who have complied with it in 2015), it will be necessary to measure the mandatory energy vectors for the attainment of the certification.

Implementation of ISO 50001 management systems

The energy audit service allows the implementation in your company of an ISO 50001 energy management system, which exonerates the obligation of a four-year audit.

Personalized energy audit

Our Experts in Energy Management perform a personalized energy audit in order to indicate to the clients the most convenient improvement interventions, showing the benefits and risks deriving from a new plant. The personalization depends on the state of the building, which emerges only after a first inspection.

Installation of the monitoring system

After the audit, we can install an energy monitoring system on the plants to keep the energy performance of your plants under control.
